Concrete Flatwork – Parking Lots to Sidewalks

Loading Docks to Sidewalks

Concrete loading docks, parking lots, driveways and walkways are always under attack by the elements, resulting in the need of replacement or repair. Before you can repair anything, you have to know what caused the problem. Was it time, excessive wheel loads, de-icing chemicals or unstable soils? At Advanced Pavement Group, we have the years of experience behind us, whether its new construction or repair.

Walking Path- Sidewalks

Sidewalks are the walking paths of our employees, residents and visitors. Its your responsibility to provide a safe pathway. Advanced Pavement Group can remove your liability exposure with trip areas and give you an excellent curb appeal at the same time.

Curbing – Belgium, Curb & Gutter Combo and Poured Types

Curbing is installed to not only protect and support the edge of our asphalt pavements, but also to channel the storm water runoff of a parking lot or roadway to our inlets. Without curbing, erosion can destroy our parking lot and roadway systems. It is vital to pavement preservation to ensure that your curbing is in good function condition.

Stone curb, often made from granite, is durable and resistant to de-icing chemicals. Belgium Block curbs are made by placing blocks over a concrete slip. Then, more concrete is wedged in between the blocks to hold them together. These blocks can be vertical, or angled in order to create a mountable curb.

Poured Solid Curb

Poured curb, which can take the shape of curb and gutter, rolled curb, vertical curb or others, is placed adjacent to pavement, such as an asphalt road or parking lot. Depth of curbing varies based on curb type.

Masonry- Brick, Block & Stone

To Simplify – A masonry structure includes anything built by fusing together materials with help from mortar. Mortar is a paste form of cement, when it dries it holds together a structure made of bricks, concrete, stone, marble and other materials.

Masonry Durability

Masonry is generally a highly durable form of construction. However, the materials used, the quality of the mortar and workmanship and the pattern in which the units are assembled, can significantly affect the durability of the overall masonry construction. This is why it’s very important to select a reputable contractor.

Stoop reconstructions and repairs can be removed and replaced as per original design. In some cases, our clients have chosen to upgrade the repair/ reconstruction by having stone or brick face added to give their stoops a completely different look.

Hardscape Services

Hardscaping refers to hard landscape materials that are incorporated into a landscaped built environment. This can include paved areas, driveways, retaining walls, or any other landscaping made up of hard wearing materials such as stone, concrete etc.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are structures that retain (hold back) any material and prevents if from eroding or sliding. There are various types of building materials that can be used to construct these walls from block, gabion baskets, poured concrete to railroad ties to name a few. Some retaining wall sample types include; gravity, piling, cantilever and anchored types.

Brick Pavers

A “paver”is a paving stone, tile, brick or brick-like piece of concrete commonly used as exterior surfaces/flooring. Manufactures construct concrete pavers by pouring a mixture of concrete with a coloring agent into a mold of various shapes and allowing it to set. They are then installed on  an aggregate or poured concrete base foundation, spreading sand on top, and then laying the pavers in a desired pattern. No adhesive or retaining method is used other than the weight of the paver itself except edging. Pavers can be used to make roads, driveways, patios, walkways and other outdoor platforms.
